Noodle Story小面故事: Reviews & Ratings
An amazing Chinese restaurant!! The Sichuan chili oil is very authentic. The chicken noodle soup is incredibly rich. But the best part is the iced mung bean soup — only one dollar a cup and super refreshing!
We stumbled upon this place on its grand opening day and decided to try it. The dining experience was fantastic. The staff was friendly and welcoming. I had the chicken noodle soup and my fiancée had the spicy beef noodle. Both broths were rich and flavorful with plenty of noodles and meat. The chicken and beef were tender and delicious. 10/10!! We will definitely be going back regularly.
Our visit to Noodle Story in the Delmar Loop was an unforgettable experience — not just because of the food, but the atmosphere and thoughtfulness behind every detail. From the moment we walked in, the space felt warm and intentional. The lower level is minimalist and clean, but as you walk upstairs, the space transforms — filled with art, culture, love, and soft lighting that makes you feel like you’ve stepped into a hidden creative haven. One of the most unique features is how you order: each table has a QR code you scan to browse the menu and order, almost like DoorDash, but right there in the restaurant. It’s modern, seamless, and surprisingly fun. When the food arrived, it came out piping hot and incredibly fresh. Every bite was full of flavor — you could tell the ingredients were high-quality and made with care. The service matched the food: kind, attentive, and patient from start to finish. If you’re in St. Louis and love good food with an artistic vibe, Noodle Story is an absolute must-visit. This place truly lives up to its name — every dish tells a story.
Two story restaurant. We had a great table upstairs overlooking Delmar. You scan the QR code at your table to view the menu and order food. It was as easy to order all our food on one check. I ordered a passion fruit smoothie, shared appetizer of crispy cucumbers, shared the steam pork soup dumplings and shared the spicy beef rib noodles. I enjoyed my passion fruit smoothie. Great flavors! The crispy cucumbers were delicious. They were pickled so I didn’t need to dip them in vinegar. The spicy beef rib noodles are very spicy. I asked our server what can we do to tone down the spiciness. She brought me a separate bowl of plain broth. I transferred the goodies into the plain broth bowl which greatly reduced the spiciness a lot and it was enjoyable to eat. The steamed pork soup dumplings seemed bigger than normal and contained a lot of soup which was great. You can’t checkout the way we ordered which was inconvenient. Very friendly and helpful staff. Fun environment for sharing a meal with family and friends.
Loved trying Noodle Story out yesterday! Delicious flavorful food, the noodles were AMAZING. We tried the pork soup dumplings which were so yummy and not too hot, the golden chicken noodle soup (which was plain Jane but I loved that they had soy sauce and chili on the table so I could spice it up if I wanted to), and the spicy beef noodles which was great too, the broth was so good! Great pricing as well. I will definitely be back again!
We say in a table upstairs next to a window facing the street - a cool vibe. I got the Mali Tofu noodles with meat which was very good but felt a bit heavy. Try the spicy pork appetizer!! The service was also great.
Newly opened restaurant with exciting reviews. Food was good, but the service could be a lot better. We were a group of 8 that were guided upstairs when there was plenty of room downstairs and a lot cooler too. We realized this as soon as the crowd started to pick up and the place got brutally hot. Don’t know if they have any cooling upstairs. My husband and I ordered the chicken soup dumplings and the spicy beef noodle soup. The server was quick to take our orders and got us the dishes as soon as they were made. The chicken soup dumplings were soupy, flavorful, and the meat was juicy, however I certainly think Tiger Dumplings are a lot tastier. Something about this dish didn’t stand out as much. Maybe the size is bigger so the dumplings are slightly more doughy and you don’t enjoy the flavor of the chicken as much. The spicy beef noodle soup was excellent. Big sized bowl, rich broth, fragrant with cilantro, generous portions of beef and veggies. The beef was fork tender and had zero bones. Definitely on our list when we visit next time. Nonetheless, the service seemed a little too rushed. The restaurant had ample place to seat other guests, but the waitress was rushing us to get our bills paid up and get the bowls taken even before we were done having them. Didn’t like that at all and we had to leave because we just couldn’t hang out with her and other staff members hanging around our table. Would definitely recommend sitting downstairs and their entrees over appetizers. Bon appétit!
Finally tried this place with my friend and already planning to come back! The place is really modern and clean with a lot of seating inside. I liked the vibe too its simple wood furniture, nothing too flashy, and you don’t have to dine in you can just stop in for boba. We ordered a bunch of food: noodles, fried rice, crab rangoon, and soup dumplings. Everything was really good!! Super flavorful and tasted authentic. The soup dumplings were 10/10. The staff was quick and efficient, and ordering is online like the menu and stuff so it was easy. Definitely want to come back soon to try more of the menu

The highlight here is unquestionably the noodles. Whether it’s the fiery, authentic Sichuan chili oil that enlivens the spicy beef noodle, or the richly flavored chicken noodle soup, each bowl tells a story of depth and care. The broths are hearty and layered, perfectly clinging to noodles that boast ideal texture and springiness. The tender meats, from beef ribs to chicken, add gratifying substance without overpowering the delicate balance of flavors.
One cannot overlook the ingenious ordering system—tables are equipped with QR codes for a seamless modern experience. This touch of high-tech convenience blends effortlessly with the restaurant’s intimate, two-story setting, where upstairs seating offers scenic views of Delmar and a cozy, creative vibe enhanced by soft lighting and thoughtful decor.
Among the standout bites are the steamed pork soup dumplings, generously sized with a savory broth inside that bursts with every bite. The crispy pickled cucumbers provide a refreshing, tangy contrast that complements the richness of the mains. And for a sweet, cooling finish, the iced mung bean soup at just a dollar per cup is a revelation—light, refreshing, and perfectly balanced against the heat of the dishes.
My experience at Noodle Story was marked by genuine hospitality and meticulous attention to detail. The staff’s warmth and attentiveness make you feel cared for from start to finish. The passion fruit smoothie offers a bright, fruity counterpoint to the bold noodles, reinforcing the thoughtful, balanced menu design.
In sum, Noodle Story小面故事 captures the essence of Chinese noodle culture with authenticity and creativity. It’s a place where tradition meets modern dining, delivering not only flavorful food but an experience that invites you to return again and again, each visit revealing new stories through its dishes.
